Alpha v05 release: Special Effects!!


So for a change (and I should be doing that more) I kept track of all the things I have changed and fixed since the last version. This "Special Effects" release brings the mechanics for effects on the player. At the moment these effects aren't saved with the player, but this will be fixed with the next mayor release. Here is a full list of the changes:

  • bug when pressing several empty buttons - Fixed!
  • Fix rarity for spells - Fixed I guess?
  • File system difference between linux and windows - Fixed!
  • Item duplication by loading a save file multiple times - Fixed!
  • Check skill mastery after making new character - Fixed maybe?
  • Limit store items to one buy - fixed
  • Fix auto saving issue - Not noticeable while not debugging, but needs some attention later
  • Fixed an issue with buffs and debuffs - done
  • Skill cloth checked while not equipped - fixed
  • Location does not reset after loading/starting anew - fixed
  • Name persists through starting anew - fixed
  • Inventory entry persists through starting anew - fixed for items, armour and weapons
  • Fixed an issue with loading where armour would be loaded incorrectly
  • Effect timers added to the view
  • Effects added
  • Items now use effects from effect table and not the effect in the database
  • Added mod check for future mod support.
  • Added skill view with details about that skill
  • A view of the skill that is already learned when going to a trainer

With these changes it is recommended to create a new character. In the future there will be an automatic removal of previous save files as these can break the game or give a decreased user experience.
